More damaging than the Liberal Elites are the Republicans In Name Only who, while pretending to be conservatives, have repeatedly bashed Sarah Palin. The harm they do to our country is even more despicable than Liberal Elites since they try to make believe that true Conservatives are not supportive of our best hope for saving this great nation. Andrew Sullivan: The Limey Sellout
Although not a Republican we choose not only to include him in our Hall of Shame, but put him at the top of the list given the relentless smear campaign he runs on his blog. The extent of his duplicity is best summarized by the fact that in 2009 Forbes magazine ranked Sullivan #19 on a list of “The 25 Most Influential Liberals In The U.S. Media.”
Kathleen Parker: The Female Back Stabber
What can you expect from someone pandering to weak males with books titled “Save the Males: Why Men Matter, Why Women Should Care (New York: Random House, 2008)”? Not much but worse was to come showing she never sould have been given a consulting faculty member position at the Buckley School of Public Speaking.
Parker made news during the 2008 U.S. presidential election when she called on Sarah Palin to step down from the party ticket, saying that a series of media interviews showed that Palin was “clearly out of her league“. Parker deservedly received over 11,000 responses, most from conservatives criticizing her.
David Frum: The Canuck Joke
Former speechwriter for G.W. Bush, David Frum made a joke of himself by launching the “NewMajority.com” website which pretended reinventing Conservatism after the 2008 elections. A self agrandizing pompous ass, he had to backpedal and choose something more attuned to his abilities: a simple forum he modestly calls FrumForum (sigh). Since the election he has been an objective ally of the WH by publishing blatant disinformation such as a conservative argument for health care reform.
This sucking-up to power came as no surprise after he criticized John McCain’s choice and smeared Sarah Palin in the Liberal Elite Media:
“I think she has pretty thoroughly — and probably irretrievably — proven that she is not up to the job of being president of the United States,” David Frum, a former speechwriter for President Bush who is now a conservative columnist, said in an interview. “If she doesn’t perform well, then people see it.
David Brooks: The Effete Country Club Pussy
The only reason that keeps us from having David Brooks on top of our Hall of Shame, despite being the archetype of a RINO, is that he has been visibly such for quite sometime. Regarding women’s issues, Brooks is a third-wave feminist (whatever that means), and he has also expressed strong support for gun control .
Brooks also broke with many in the conservative movement when, in late 2003, he came out in favor of same-sex marriage in his New York Times column. He equated the idea with traditional conservative values (New York Times, November 22, 2003, A-15.):
“We should insist on gay marriage. We should regard it as scandalous that two people could claim to love each other and not want to sanctify their love with marriage and fidelity…. It’s going to be up to conservatives to make the important, moral case for marriage, including gay marriage.”
Brooks has always been a big Palin basher. Back in October of 2008, he said that Palin “represents a fatal cancer to the Republican Party” and insisted that she was “absolutely not” ready to be president. And more recently he told ABC’s “This Week.” “She’s a joke, a potential talk show host, I mean, I just can’t take her seriously”.
